CONSTRUCTION UPDATES

We’re excited to share that Project Mockingbird construction begins Monday, April 6—right after Easter. Because of your generosity and trust, the vision of Project Mockingbird is becoming a reality.

Over the coming weeks, you’ll begin to see visible progress as early construction activities take place on campus. This phase includes preparation work, coordination with contractors, and laying the groundwork for what’s to come.

We’ll keep this page updated with major milestones as the project moves forward.

HPUMC Kids Ministry (2nd Floor)

During Phase 1, the 2nd-floor Kids Space will be closed for construction beginning April 6. Instead, families are invited to attend our Kids Family Services at 9:30 and 11 am—designed for families to worship together with their children.

What You Need to Know:

  • Kids Family Services will meet at 9:30 & 11 am in the Bush Family Confirmation Center (3rd floor)

  • No K–5th grade Sunday School or activities during construction

  • Infant–Pre-K programming will continue as normal on the 1st floor

  • We will not be hosting VBS this summer

Wesley Hall (Cornerstone)

Beginning April 6, Wesley Hall will close for construction. Cornerstone will worship at 9:30 and 11 am,  in Great Hall, and we’re adding a new 5 pm contemporary service in the Sanctuary. While the locations and times may shift, what won’t change is the heart of Cornerstone—vibrant worship, authentic community, and a place to grow together.

What You Need to Know:

  • Cornerstone 9:30 & 11 am services will move to Great Hall (250-seat capacity per service)

  • We are adding a new 5 pm Sunday contemporary service in the Sanctuary

  • The 5 pm option is ideal for those with full Sunday mornings or those who want a more relaxed rhythm to close the weekend

Chance’s Cafe
(Room 120)

As part of Project Mockingbird, we’re expanding and relocating Chance’s Cafe to the area that is currently room 120, adjacent to Wesley Hall and the Welcome Center. Construction begins Monday, April 6, and will bring a few temporary adjustments as we complete this exciting transformation.

What You Need to Know:

  • Room 120 will be closed during construction

  • Kerygma will temporarily meet in Room 244/245
